R307S Optical Fingerprint Module — 1,000 Template Capacity, USB & UART

Overview

The R307S is an optical fingerprint module with a 1,000-template storage capacity and a compact footprint (52×20×22 mm). It uses a 500 DPI sensor and an effective sensing area of 11×15 mm to capture clear fingerprint images for access control and similar embedded applications.

Performance & connectivity

The module supports USB 2.0 for PC connection and RS232 (TTL) serial for microcontrollers, with a configurable UART baud rate (default 57,600 bps). Capture speed is under 0.2s and verification under 0.3s, with 1:1 and 1:N matching, low power consumption and blue backlight for the sensing window.

Developer, setup & reliability

The R307S can connect directly to 3.3V or 5V microcontrollers and provides reference SDKs for Arduino, Android, .NET and Windows; user manual and SDK files are available on request. On power-up the collection window flashes to indicate a normal self-test and a small amount of chip heat during operation is expected; follow wiring guidance carefully to avoid damage.
